Hello!
Welcome to my page. My name is Jiamin Xie (谢佳旻).
I am a second-year Ph.D. candidate working on problems in automatic speech recognition (ASR) for naturalistic data at University of Texas at Dallas , supervised by Dr. John Hansen. My research focuses on to understand and develop new methods to improve feature learning and encoders for end-to-end ASR models, especially when there is a training/testing condition mismatch. Previously, I worked as a speech-to-text engineer at a startup focused on conversational agent calls based in St. Louis, Missouri. I finished my master's degree working on speaker diarization (the problem of "who speaks at when") for child speech data at Center for Language and Speech Processing (CLSP). Outside of the lab space, I enjoy playing tennis or hiking with friends and occasionally cooking (try a receipe I made a long time ago) and traveling.
